This video documents some of the lies of Bush and his cronies.
If you don’t need convincing that Bush, Cheney, and Rumsfeld are all liars, send the link to the many Christians you know who think that they are all men of integrity.
Watch up to 4 minutes 15 seconds. The last part is not very good. Also a few Bush/Cheney-type vulgarities can be heard.

I personally think Bush is incompetent, but I don’t think you should have placed a link to such video in this site.
This is your website and do what you want, but a video with Sean Penn (Fidel’s and Hugo Chavez buddy) swearing and using the F word is hardly iron clad evidence for anything. It just shows the ignorance and emotion-based rationale of the Left. And what was the video anyway, but solely an anti-Bush propaganda? The emphasis here is not anti-Bush, but >, just what communists and dictators do. Their objective is hardly the truth; they only want to manipulate public opinion.
You noticed how many times the same “lie” was repeated? Was it to emphasize the point or to exaggerate and make the viewer think each lie is one occurrence? Lying is immoral, but there’s still a difference between lying once versus a dozen times, for example.
I like reading the posts on this site and I was hoping you wouldn’t resort to such trashy material to try to prove your point. Again, my beef is with the video itself, not with the fact that Bush made a mistake (sorry, “lied”).
Roger — yeah, I had the same question. And there are other problems too. Calling Bush and Cheney Nazis is historically upside down. National Socialism rose up to oppose people like Bush and his controllers.
However, what I found moving about the clip was the juxtaposition of Bush’s flippancy with the body bags. Even if his statements had been sincere (i.e. not lies) at the outset, his jocularity as the coffins line up show the real defect. That is actually the main proof in my mind that he was lying. A man that made such a mistake honestly would show some remorse and make some effort to undo the damage.
I wish our side could produce videos that made the good points without the other.
Tim, thanks for your comment. Your site is indeed thought provoking and I really enjoy reading it.
I find it interesting that the posts here oppose Bush and the Republicans, yet we as voters are left with very little choice. I’d love to hear your take on the “wasted vote syndrome”.
We have a two-party system in which we were trained (read: manipulated) to think that we should “vote against” our worst choice by selecting the party / candidate with the best chances to beat it. So, we’re bound to vote for the lesser of two evils, and not for the best candidate. Do we realistically have other option(s)?
Exactly my thoughts (#3). When he’s joking about
the justification for going into Iraq, the widows and fatherless kids are crying.
Instead of remorse, we get more lies.
If there was no connection between Iraq and the “terrorists”, no evidence of WMD, and no pursuit by Iraq to obtain nuke capacity, then why the body bags?
Because non-democratic states in the Middle East hate freedom. Oh the irony.
Quote in Roger’s comment: “I find it interesting that the posts here oppose Bush and the Republicans, yet we as voters are left with very little choice.”
Unfortunately, the candidate who offers a real solution to many of the problems that beset the US, Dr Ron Paul, has been airbrushed out of the picture by the mainstream media and corporate interests that feel threatened by him.
Devastating summary of the Bush Wars by Paul Craig Roberts. Scroll down to find the article.
In John Lofton’s 45 min interview of Vince Bugliosi they discuss Bugliosis’s recent book, “The Prosecution Of George W. Bush For Murder.”
All neo-cons should listen to this, taking note that there is no argument to vindicate Bush. Well, there are arguments, such as the one near the end by Culture Warrior, Bill O’Reilly. Pathetic.
This is a good test in ethics to determine whether our neo-con Christian brothers will keep or ditch their Christian worldview.
I wouldn’t steer people weak in the faith toward John Lofton.
They might end up at the Bahnsen Burner blog and that guy seems to do nothing but annihilate the presupposionalist position usually by demolishing the arguments at the Triablogue.
He is a very smart cookie. I’m reading Hume right now to try and come up with a defense.
Perhaps you guys could do some posts in the future engaging his arguments against TAG?
danielj:
I’m not sure who John Lofton is (the guy whose link Joshua posted)…but I think you might be confusing him with John W. Loftus.
It’s Lofton
Oops!
It is Loftus!
And I was serious about that feller at the Bahnsen Burner. No one really seems able to engage him and I would like to but I ain’t smart enough.
By the way, is the First Word site being hacked or something?
danielj:
I know Paul Manata had some debates with him in the past. Gene Cook also interviewed him at least once.
That guy is nothing to be intimidated by.
He starts from the same autonomous presuppositions as every God-hater.
I’m currently doing the foot work for a critique of Hegel. DanielJ, if you need some encouragement, just let me know via email. The guy is no Hegel…not by a long shot…
Daniel– I’m not sure what cued you in just now, but… yes, we have been hacked. We are working on unveiling a completely new location — same content — with the hack-resistant upgrades; at the same time, the down-time problem should go away. We are having some problems overcoming the data-base changes, but soon, friends, soon… In the meantime, if you see the hack residuals, please ignore them and hang in there a couple more weeks.
TJH: I couldn’t access the site the day before. Then, Google was doing crazy things to it again. (“Butler-Harris” as a search term wouldn’t bring up the blog)
Shotgun: I’m not intimated so much as sad that no one seems to be able to outmaneuver him in debate. My faith isn’t wavering, but I’d really like to understand more of the debate and be effective in arguing our side.
I will shoot you an e-mail sometime soon.
